BTECX helps schools share student projects, participate in campaigns and receive feedback from judges. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit or participate.
Information and its use
We store information you provide: account name and email, school, role, interests, project descriptions, student/participant details, project dates, class, language, school coordinates and uploaded files. Judge reviews, scores and administrative decisions are recorded. We use these to run accounts, campaigns, submissions, judging, notifications and platform security. Hosting and authentication providers process technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to operate and protect the service.
Google sign-in
If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides basic identity information such as your account identifier, name, email and profile image where available. We use it to authenticate you and maintain your BTECX profile. We do not receive your Google password. Ordinary sign-in does not request access to your Google Drive or Gmail.
Attachments and Google Drive
New request and judge attachments use private Google Drive storage authorized by the administrator. Existing attachments remain in private Supabase storage. Drive permission covers app-created or explicitly selected files, not general access to personal files. Students, teachers and judges do not need to connect their own Drive accounts.
BTECX checks account permissions before uploads and downloads. Files are not publicly shared to allow downloads. Google credentials stay on the server. The administrator can revoke access from their Google account; revocation stops further API access but does not automatically delete existing Drive files. Replaced or interrupted files may remain privately stored until cleanup; contact us for deletion requests.
Access, publication and providers
Administrators review participation records; authorized teachers and assigned judges access records and attachments needed for their tasks. Published projects, campaigns, school locations, news and winners can be visible to visitors. Avoid adding private information to public descriptions or material intended for publication.
Cloudflare hosts the website; Supabase handles authentication, database and storage; Google provides optional sign-in and the administrator's Drive connection; Resend delivers platform notification emails. Map, search and asset providers receive requests needed to display resources or find locations. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or use Google API data to train generalized AI models.
Browser storage and installed app
Your browser stores your sign-in session, language/theme choices and some public-content preferences. The installed web app caches static website files for an offline fallback, not offline access to private records or attachments. Clearing browser storage removes local preferences and may sign you out; it does not delete your server account.
Retention, student data and your requests
We retain account and participation records as needed to operate campaigns, review projects and preserve results and audit history. Teachers should provide student information and images only with required school and parent/guardian permissions, and share only what participation needs.
Contact us to request access, correction or deletion, or raise publication concerns. We review linked project, attachment and audit records when handling requests; account deletion does not automatically remove every published result or linked record. Provider backups/logs may persist under their retention practices.
